NFL Player Injured in Hot Air Balloon Accident

NFL receiver Donte’ Stallworth and his girlfriend were injured recently when a hot-air balloon crashed into power lines in South Miami-Dade. A third person who was in the balloon was not hurt.

Stallworth was hospitalized with serious burns but is not expected to suffer any permanent damage. The 10-year NFL veteran free agent last played for the New England Patriots who recently expressed interest in re-signing him. Stallworth’s agent said the player would be able to continue his NFL career.

News reports immediately after the crash did not indicate what caused the balloon to strike the power lines.

Hot-air balloon operators may be liable if they injure others through carelessness, recklessness or negligence. A person who is hurt in virtually any type of Florida accident that is someone else’s fault could be entitled to receive financial compensation.
