On July 29th, at 11 A.M., a massive line of kids and their parents lined the paths of Armour Square Park just north of Guaranteed Rate Field. Those kids were in greeted by the staff and friends of Disparti Law as they waiting patiently to receive a full-stocked backpack to prepare them for school. The Sky Guy, the official mascot of the WNBA’s Chicago Sky, handed out high-fives as parents registered their families for the free event.
“Last year, we created this event as a way to give back to our community and make sure that all kids are ready to face the new school year,” says Larry Disparti, Founder of Disparti Law Group. “We are excited to be reaching nearly 4x the number of kids we reached last year. “
The Disparti Law Group was not alone producing this event. Disparti partnered with the 009th District Chicago Police Department CAPS unit as well as the Bridgeport and China Town Community Watch Group to reach so many families.
The event was much more than just backpacks. Families were able to grab hot dogs prepared by local police officers, ride horses through the park, play games and even enjoy performances by the Jesse White Tumblers. Former Secretary of State Jesse White was even present to introduce the tumblers and talk with the families.
