A teenager trying to save a parking spot for her pregnant friend in a Walmart parking lot in Georgia ended up getting hit by a car in an apparent case of road rage, according to a news report.

Police arrested the driver, saying she struck the girl with her car to get her out of the spot. The driver claimed the girl had leaned into the car, but security footage told a different story.

“She told her to move and then she pulled into the parking spot and hit her with the tire of the vehicle,” Bartow County Sheriff’s Office investigator Jonathan White told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “They did see scuff marks on the victim’s knee, which was consistent with the height of the tire during that incident.”

Unfortunately, road rage altercations are not uncommon. According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, more than 300 Americans every year are seriously injured or killed in road rage incidents.
